Jim Hughes coached at multiple high schools during his career, posting a career winning percentage of 70 percent, with 3 state titles.

“When I read through the list of high school coaches that have been accepted here, it blows me away.,” said Hughes. “They’re men that I’ve coached against, men who were heroes to me when I started out, and it’s just unbelievable to be included in that group.”

“In the sports world we look forward a lot,” said GSHF Managing Director Ben Sapp. “Everyone’s lookin to the next season, to recruiting, to the next class coming in. This is a time when we get to look backward.”

Hughes said the honor is something you could never campaign for.
