Main Street Matters Project Kicks Off in Macon
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Macon got a little bit brighter on Monday. Benjamin Moore’s Main Street Matters project started on Second Street.

The beginning of a new look in downtown Macon is underway.
It’s a fresh start Brian Adams has been hoping for.
“It’s going to make a big difference for anybody that comes into town to appreciate how far things are coming in downtown Macon,” Adams said.
Adams is the co-owner of Optionz Event Facility on Second Street. He thinks once the Main Street Matters project is complete, it will be create more foot traffic in the city.
“This is going to be a huge change in the next few months,” Adams said.
The first color choice, “rock gray.”
“This is our support back to the downtowns, to revitalize the downtowns, and really freshen up the downtowns across North America,” Pat McFadden, the Director of Sales for Benjamin Moore said.
Macon-Bibb County Mayor Robert Reichert says this move is one of many in the start of the revitalization process downtown.
“We think it’s an excellent compliment to the ongoing efforts, and the vision block to create the new complete street,” Reichert said.
The plan is for Second Street to be one of the main roads that connects I-75 and Mercer University Drive.
“In both directions to east Macon as well as west Macon, and bringing us all together as a community, centered around this vibrant urban core that will benefit us all,” Reichert said.
