Bibb Deputies: Macon Man Uses Knife to Rob Friends

Robert Kyle BarthelemyMACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a Macon man wanted for aggravated assault and personal armed robbery.

According to a news release, the incident happened Monday night around 7 o’clock in North Macon. The victims, 20-year-old Gordon Broassard of Statesboro and 31-year-old Paul Knight, were contacted by a mutual friend, 20-year-old Robert Kyle Barthelemy of Macon, to come visit him.

Deputies say the victims met Barthelemey at the McDonald’s on Gray Highway. They got into Knight’s car and started driving north on I-75 when Barthelemy pulled a knife, demanded money, and then started cutting the victims. The sheriff’s office says the victims gave him their money and then Barthelemy told them to get out of the car.

Knight and Brossard were taken to the hospital and are listed in stable condition.

Investigators are interviewing witnesses and reviewing evidence to find Barthelemy. He’s described as 5’8″, weighs 140 pounds, and has short brown hair and brown eyes. He sometimes has a goatee.
