Macon Man to Run for Bibb County School Board Position
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Macon attorney and small business owner, Daryl Morton announced his candidacy for the Bibb County School Board.
The Post 7 candidate said at a news conference this afternoon at Third Street Park he is the best man for the job, because he has been an active citizen when it comes to education.
Morton says his granddaughter is his biggest inspiration. He wants a better public school system for her and future generations.
“I’ve supported the school system when I thought they were right. I’ve tried to point out when I thought they’ve tried to do something wrong, but I’ve done that with integrity,” Morton says “That’s what the community needs in an elected leader.”
According to a news release, Morton regularly advocates for students with disabilities seeking services, and as a volunteer. He was also honored with “The Extra Mile Award” by the Bibb County School System for his work that help grant the school system fiscal independence.
Bibb County School Board elections are Tuesday, May 20.
