Money on the Way to Middle Georgia Schools
Nearly 30 Georgia school districts will soon be getting their first sum of money from the state’s “Race to the Top” grant, four of those are in Middle Georgia. The U.S. Department of Education approved plans for the 26 districts, including Bibb, Peach, Pulaski, and Treutlen, to receive about $32 million this year, much of which is going to teacher training.
Georgia was one of 11 applicants to win money from the $4 billion “Race to the Top” grant competition last year.
