Macon Man Charged with Arson at Ocmulgee National Monument
A macon man is arrested in connection to a fire at the Ocmulgee National monument.
57-year-old Dwight Davis is charged with arson, burglary and criminal trespass in the Wednesday morning fire that damaged a 154-year-old house.
The house was built in 1857 and was used by confederate troops during the Civil War. According to Superintendent of the Ocmulgee National Monument, Jim David, there was no damage to any major structural parts of the house, and initial plans for reconstruction are already in place.
