History in the Making in Middle Georgia

If you haven’t driven through downtown this week, more specifically past Rosa Parks Square, then maybe you haven’t had the chance to see the silver Airstream trailer sitting outside.

The ‘silver bullet’ is part of the StoryCorps nonprofit organization that records people’s stories.

Georgia Public Broadcasting is hosting the StoryCorps event. The goal of the event is to collect, record, and store the stories people share in the mobile recording booth parked in Rosa Parks Square.

StoryCorps gives anyone in Middle Georgia a chance to come in, sit down, and record whatever they would like to talk about for 40 minutes.

Once the recording session is finished, two copies of the session are made. One goes home with the person who told their story, the other is sent to the Library of Congress in Washington D.C.
