Gag Order Issued in Stephen McDaniel Murder Case
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A judge has issued a gag order for all people close to the case, prohibiting them from talking with members of the media.
Superior court judge Howard Simms issued the order this morning, citing an article in the Macon Telegraph as a part of his decision.
McDaniel is awaiting trial after being charged with the 2011 death of his neighbor and classmate, Lauren Giddings.
Also in the judges’ order were a number of articles from various media outlets.
Judge Simms is concerned about the information being published online.
