Knights Women Make Late Run but Fall to Atlanta Metro

Cochran, Ga. (MGSC RELEASE) – The Middle Georgia State College Knights women’s basketball team came out strong early and the game with Atlanta Metro was tied at 8 early on but that was as close as the Knights would get. The Trailblazers went on a 19-4 run to take a 15 point lead which would be cut to 14 at halftime.

The second half saw an even half early before the Trailblazers extended their lead with another big run leading by as many as 22. The Knights would cut it down to 3 with just under two minutes to go before Metro went on a 8-0 run to take it back to 11. The lead was cut back to 5 with 7.9 seconds left when Deundria Clark would hit back to back 3s but the game ended with Metro defeating the Knights 67-60.

The Knights were led by Kiersten Green with 13 points while Diamond Hudson added 12 and Va’Queshia Hall 10. The game high belonged to Lawna Kennedy of Atlanta Metro with 25 points.

The Knights next game will be Wednesday the 22nd at 5:30 at Andrew College in Cuthbert, GA.
