Florida Hardware Opens Factory in Treutlen County

SOPERTON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A new manufacturing company is making it’s way to Middle Georgia hoping to boost the economy by bringing more jobs across the southeast.

Florida Hardware Company off Highway 221 in Treutlen County manufactures farm gates for farmers around the nation, and in Canada.

The business bought an old 36,000 square foot factory in December with the intention to renovate. They are adding assembly lines and work sections, so production can begin late January.

Division manager Robert Tucker says after the factory is in full production, he expects the company will make more than $3,000,000 annually.

Tucker added the company will employ at least 50 people once the assembly line is complete.
