McDaniel Lawyers File Motion to Change Venue

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Defense attorneys in the murder case of Stephen McDaniel don’t want a Bibb County jury to determine what will happen to Mercer Law graduate, Lauren Giddings alleged killer.

According to McDaniel’s lawyer, Franklin Hogue the publicity surrounding the case has heated up and much of it is negative. His concern is that it will be difficult to find a jury from Bibb County who hasn’t formed opinions about McDaniel.

McDaniel’s lawyers filed a motion Tuesday asking for a change in venue.

The trial that was expected to start in February, Hogue now thinks will take place in March or April.
