Boil Water Advisory Issued in Gray

GRAY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A boil water advisory has been issued for residents in Gray.

If you’ve been without water in the last 24 hours you need to boil your drinking water. City officials say this notice is precautionary and not alarming.

Target areas include the Stonebrooke subdivision, and customers on Bill Conn Parkway.

The advisory is because of a water main break near Gray Elementary.

Crews have been working around the clock the last two days to fix the problem.

As a result, the kids got one more day off of school. The problem sparked a lot of team work too-
Jones County Public Works stepped in to help, as well as Gray’s mayor, Stephen Tingen.

“I think the potential for this to happen could happen anywhere in the country when it’s cold like this. It’s just one of those thing where as the problems arise we’re addressing them as aggressively as possible, we’re making good head way,” Tingen said.

Jones County’s Superintendent, William Mathews, was also at the site.

The plan is to have the break fixed by the end of the day, and students back in school Thursday.
