Macon Church Provides Coats For Kids

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – More than 100 coats were lined up and ready to give to children at the Greater Rising Star Tabernacle in Macon.

All of the coats are brand new thanks to sponsors across middle Georgia.

Reverend Charles Jones said he saw a child without a coat one day, and it inspired him to make a change.

“We want to do something that they would have a warm winter,” said Jones. “And with the weather coming like it is, it’s hard enough to learn in school when you get in, but it’s even harder when you’re cold on your way in. So we wanted to do something to purchase coats for kids who did not have a coat…I want them to go back to school warm and to be able to say that I received this from the Lord.”

If you need a coat, call the Reverend at 478-228-4497.

Give him a name and a size, and he will gladly find a coat for you.
