District 136 Election Results

The residents of Middle Georgia’s district 136 have a new representative tonight. Republican Robert Dickey narrowly avoided a runoff, by getting 50.4% of the votes. Republican Judye Sellier, whose late husband Tony previously held the seat, got 43.3%, and the sole democrat, Sharon Howard, got just 6.2%. Dickey owns and manages dickey farms in Musella.

41 NBC spoke to Dickey last week, and he told us why his experience makes him the person for the job.
Dickey says, “I think we need to run government like a business. They don’t need to be spending money they don’t have.” This is the first political office dickey has run for.

District 136 covers all of Crawford county, and parts of Bibb, Houston, Peach, Lamar, Upson, and Monroe counties. Election results will be finalized later this week.
