Baldwin Sheriff: Man Shot ‘Almost Point Blank’ on Doorstep

MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office is working an active homicide investigation.

Capt. Brad King tells 41NBC the victim is 33-year-old Francisco Lopez Castillo. King says he has no criminal history and is a landscaper in Milledgeville.

King says evidence shows Castillo answered the door at his home off Selma Drive around 8 p.m. Friday and was shot in the chest. Sheriff Bill Massee says it was “almost point blank.”

Deputies are looking at physical evidence, conducting interviews, and running down leads. King adds they do not have a complete description of the suspect yet.

King says this appears to be a domestic incident. Massee says no one has been arrested in connection to this crime.
