Atlanta Braves Visit Middle Georgia
The Atlanta Braves kicked off the first day of the 2011 Braves Country Caravan in Middle Georgia on Monday.
Braves players Freddie Freeman, Brandon Hicks, Lee Hyde and Matt Young; along with their coaches Brian Snitker and Larry Parrish and general manager Frank Wren headed to Robins Air Force Base to meet soldiers and tour an F-15.
Shortly after, the team visited The Children’s Hospital at The Medical Center of Central Georgia. They stopped to meet with the kids and drop off signed baseball caps.
First baseman Freddie Freeman said, “Unfortunately you dont get to do it as much as you want to do it, but to be able to do it when they want you to, just come out and give a little bit of your time to make these kids happy, just to see their faces when we come in – it makes our days better also.”
Several patients at the hospital got the opportunity to take pictures and talk with the players. The Braves will be visiting all over the southeast the next two weeks.
Atlanta Braves General Manager Frank Wren said, “This is one of the most fun things we do.
