Music Hall of Fame Authority Remains Undecided

The future of the Georgia Music Hall of Fame remains in limbo.

Evaluations of the four bid proposals were unveiled at a teleconference Wednesday.  Board members ranked Macon’s offer as the best.  But, in a 6-3 vote, they decided not to choose a site based on the evaluations, putting a decision on hold.

Macon’s offer remains on the table until April 15th.

The four bid proposals were ranked using a point system.  Macon received 518, Woodstock got 384, Athens had 322 and Dunwoody got 285.

Next week, the board will ask the Governor’s Office what their options are from here.

Some board members said none of the four offers were what they wanted, and discussed possibly closing the museum or making site visits to cities interested in hosting the museum.  Other board members worried delaying the vote could re-open the bidding process, giving Atlanta officials the chance to move the hall of fame there.
