Dublin Resident Lights Up The Season With Light Show

DUBLIN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — For Rodney Crosslin, Christmas started early–way early.

The Dublin resident dedicated the entire year to creating a musically-synced Christmas light display in his front yard, made up of thousands of lights.

“My little brother thought I was crazy,” said Crosslin. “My mom said well just go for it. My wife said she was used to it–her uncle did lights like this and her brother did lights like this so she was all fine with it.”

“Just something where people can get out–it’s free, drive by, you know watch some lights with their kids because no kid’s gonna turn down music with lights go and flash everywhere,” said Crosslin.

“(What’s cool about the lights?) Because they’re so bright. And they’re so colorful,” said Addie and Lauren Graham, two residents who enjoyed the light show. “(Why do you think Mr. Rodney did this?) Because he wants to give the spirit of Christmas to everybody. (And what does that mean to you?) That means that everybody should enjoy Christmas.”

And with new technology, Crosslin says enjoying the lights won’t kill his power bill.

“I haven’t seen it yet, but I know a lot of guys that are on the forums running four and five times this amount that (say that their) electricity bills are equivalent to them running a microwave every night.”

But for Crosslin, the price is absolutely worth it to spread Christmas cheer throughout Middle Georgia.
