Macon Church Celebrates Holidays in a Big Way

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – As middle Georgians prepare for the holiday season, one Macon church is doing it in a *very big way.

Harvest Cathedral is holding the South Macon Christmas Tree Lighting and Family Experience this Saturday.

For the first time, they’re using a 30 foot tree.

There will be train rides, hot chocolate and cookies, and professional pictures with Santa.

Senior Pastor Steve Sawyer thinks it’s the perfect opportunity to bring the community closer together.

“The hope and the light and the love that we have for the community, especially the kids I’m telling you the kids. I’m telling you we have funny things…they’ll laugh. It’ll be a really rich, really Christmasy experience, that’s filled with a lot of life, a lot of hope, and a lot of love….and a lot of candy, and a lot of cookies, and a lot of food, and a lot of good things like that too,” Sawyer said.

Harvest Cathedral’s Christmas Tree Lighting and Family Experience is this Saturday, December 7th, from 6-8 pm.

They’re located on 2254 Rocky Creek Rd, Macon, GA.
