Macon-Bibb Departments Move into New Homes

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — In preparation for consolidation on January 1, 2014, several Macon and Bibb County departments are moving into new homes this week.

The following offices are set to consolidate and move into new locations during the week of December 2nd:

• Payroll: 3rd Floor of Macon City Hall
• Human Resources and Risk Management: 4th Floor of City Annex
• Purchasing: 8th Floor of City Annex

The city’s purchasing department is moving this week, and the county’s is moving in the following week.

A news release from the city said it’s important to get finance and HR moved in and settled before January 1st so the offices can focus on paying bills and managing payroll throughout the transition.

The release also said risk management and purchasing are also closely associated with those two offices, and that’s why they’re included in the first round of moves.
