Mayoral Candidates Anxious, Excited for Runoff Elections in Warner Robins

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Thousands of Warner Robins residents will have the chance to choose who they want to represent them as mayor and in the Post 1 seat in city council.

Warner Robins mayoral candidates aren’t taking any breaks.

Both candidates, Joe Musselwhite and Randy Toms, are taking different approaches to try and get people to head to the polls.

“My goal would be was to convince 100 people today to get out to the poll and vote for me that maybe didn’t last time,” Toms said.

He stopped by a hair salon in the city, hoping to reach his goal.

Toms says small businesses like the salon are the backbone to the city and he wants to help all of them grow.

“And so we bring new business in as they’re there and that increases the traffic flow and there’s an increase in traffic flow it helps every business that’s in that area.”

“I will go to work for the people of Warner Robins and be pretty energetic. We’ll get a lot of work done,” Musselwhite said, while campaigning outside of Feagin Mill Middle School.

He’s is hoping to impact each voter with a smile.

“If you’ll take the time to come out and wave at them and smile at them when they’re coming to pick up the children from school, you’ll go to city hall and do a good job for them on a daily basis,” Musselwhite said.

Toms says he’s happy to have the support of some of his former opponents and he wants to convince voters that he’s the right choice.

“I would just encourage their voters to please get back out and vote for Randy Toms for mayor so that we can move this city forward,” he said.

Polls open for the Warner Robins runoff elections Tuesday at 7 AM until 7 PM.
