Smash and Grab Suspects Sought for Stealing More Than 64 Weapons
MACON, Georgia (41 NBC/WMGT) – Thieves stole more than 64 handguns and rifles during a smash and grab robbery, Thursday.
The burglary happened around 12:30 a.m., at Classic Firearms on Columbus Road.
The heist was caught on surveillance video tape.
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident. A spokesperson for the sheriff’s office, Sean Defoe, says one of the four suspects removed a metal mesh screen that covered the front door and then used a cement block to smash through the door’s glass.
Once inside they loaded up various handguns and rifles into tote bags and left. Surveillance video shows the four suspects dressed in long sleeves and wearing masks.
They were spotted in a white 1990’s Ford Crown Victoria, with a dark color stripe on the side.
