Bibb Commission Appoints New HR Director

Bibb County commissioners voted to remove Human Resources Director Marilu Cowan from her position Wednesday evening.

Chief Administrative Officer Steve Layson was appointed as the interim human resources director, according to County Commission Chairman Sam Hart.

Chairman Hart was not able to discuss why Cowan was removed from the position and said it was a personnel issue.

Layson has served as the interim information technology director for more than a year. Chairman Hart says he is confident Layson will provide good interim leadership moving foward.
