Mystery Crosses Placed in Jones County

Crosses are being hung on trees in Jones County, including one near Jones County High School. The person responsible remains a mystery. The sheriff of Jones County says he has only gotten one complaint because of them. People have been searching for them, taking pictures of them, and posting them on a facebook page.

Martha Holt first noticed a cross Wednesday night as she was headed home from Bible Study. She recounted what happened to 41 NBC News, “the lights from the car just hit it, and I thought ‘what was that’ because the light just hit it. The white cross was tied to a tree in Holt’s front yard.

181 people on Facebook said they were fans of the Jones County’s Mystery Crosses page. Thursday, the page’s administrator wrote that there are 200 more crosses to place.
