Man Shot and Killed in Fort Valley

FORT VALLEY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – One man is dead and another is in jail after a shooting in Fort Valley.

According to Chief Lawrence Spurgeon with the Fort Valley Police Department, 20-year-old Gabriel Jackson was found dead at the Valley Pines Apartment complex at 1101 Orange Street.

Jackson was shot several times in the upper torso around midnight Sunday.

Shortly after the shooting, investigators arrested 24-year-old Jonathan Baldwin in connection with the case. Baldwin lived in the complex where Jackson was found dead.

The investigation is ongoing and the GBI is assisting in this case.
