Food Mart Clerk Beaten by Gunman in Armed Robbery on Rocky Creek Road

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Macon Police are searching for an armed suspect who robbed the Sonoco Food Mart on Rocky Creek Road early Monday morning.

According to a news release from the MPD, an employee of the Food Mart was mopping the floor when the suspect entered and pointed a gun at the back of his head, demanding money.

The store clerk complied, giving the suspect an undisclosed amount. The suspect then proceeded to strike the victim in the forehead several times before getting away.

The clerk was transported to the Medical Center of Central Georgia with injuries that were reportedly not life-threatening.

The gunman is desribed as a black male wearing a blue jacket, with a black & white bandana covering his face.
