Warner Robins Voters Out Casting Votes for Mayor, City Council Posts

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Polls opened bright and early Tuesday morning across Middle Georgia. Voters went out to cast their ballots in local elections.

41NBC stopped by Feagin Mill Middle School in Warner Robins. The cold weather didn’t stop campaigners from hitting the streets or the community from going out to vote. There was a steady flow of voters and it was a simple, quick process to cast their ballots.

On the ballot in Warner Robins is the race for mayor, the City Council Post 1 at Large seat, and the seats for City Council Post 3, 4, and 5.

Voters say it is their civic duty to go out and vote.

“If you don’t got out to vote then your voice is not heard and then you can’t make that impact,” Elias Rodriguez said.

“[To] use my opinion, my opportunity to vote and pick who I want to win for mayor,” Sheila Herbin said.

Some voters say they hope the city’s new leaders will work together to make a better Warner Robins.

“I really want them to get along, the city council and mayor,” Cathy Fortson said. “Hopefully with the new set coming in they can have a better repor with each other and get things done.”
