UPDATE: Bibb Campus Police Arrest Man, Charged with Attempted Kidnapping in Springdale Incident

Christian OgolMACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)– Bibb County Campus Police have arrested a man connected to Wednesday’s reported attempted abduction of a child at Springdale Elementary.

He’s 68-year-old Christian Ogol of Macon. According to Bibb County jail records, Ogol is charged with two counts of False Imprisonment, one count of Simple Battery and one count of Attempted Kidnapping.

The Director of Safety and Risk Management for the Bibb County School District David Gowan says, Springdale Elementary teachers noticed Ogol during the bus dismissal period, which he believes is the most active time of the school day.

“The incident was not inside the school, but it was in the front area on school ground,” says Gowan.

He adds the heavy security and monitoring on campus helped staff and faculty spot Ogol, and make the call to Bibb County campus police.

Gowan wants to remind the community and parents of Springdale Elementary, there are safety procedures that are followed each day during dismissal.

This investigation is still on-going. Bond has not been set.
