Bobcat Volleyball Loses at Montevallo

MONTEVALLO, Ala. (GCSU RELEASE) – The Georgia College volleyball team (4-18, 1-11 PBC) dropped a straight-set matchup at the University of Montevallo (15-6, 8-3 PBC) Saturday, 25-13, 25-14 and 25-14.

The Falcons had an amazing hitting day, firing for .378 overall, including a .652 effort in the second set.

Rachel Reynolds (Marietta, Ga.) led the Bobcats with six kills, flanked by five from Miller Howard (Suwanee, Ga.) and four from Blake Willoughby (Savannah, Ga.). The Bobcats hit just .029, the best set being the .095 second.

Ashton Bigler (Fairborn, Ga.) had 11 digs to lead the Bobcats, with 10 from Caroline Ham (Marietta, Ga.). Setter Micayla Patterson (Tyrone, Ga.) had 18 assists.

The Bobcats are 1-11 in Peach Belt Conference (PBC) play, tied with GRU Augusta for ninth in the conference standings. The top eight schools advance to the PBC Tournament in November. UNC Pembroke is eighth, two ahead of the pair in the loss column.

GC volleyball is back in action Friday, Oct. 25 at 6 p.m., hosting No. 21 Armstrong Atlantic State University (18-0, 10-0 PBC). The Pirates most recently beat Francis Marion University in straight sets today.
