Missing Acworth Teen Found in Bibb County Hotel

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — A 14-year-old girl who was reported missing from Acworth, Georgia early Tuesday morning was found safe in a hotel in Macon, according to Bibb County Lieutenant Sean DeFoe.

According investigators with the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office, Amber Harrison took her parents’ Range Rover without their permission. She picked up 20-year-old Jason Cooley in Dallas, Georgia. The two were joy riding around the state before they were spotted in Bibb County.

Harrison was found just moments after a statewide Levi’s Call was issued Wednesday night around 7:30 pm. A citizen in the area spotted Harrison’s parents white Range Rover in the parking lot of the Country Inn and Suites on Arkwright Road.

After the call came in, Bibb County deputies went to the hotel to confirm the vehicle was the one reported in the Levi’s Call. Once they spotted the car, the driver tried to leave, but deputies were able to block him.

At this time, Cooley is not facing any charges. He was questioned and released on the scene. The Bartow County Sheriff’s Office is continuing this investigation.

Harrison was not harmed and is staying at the Bibb County Sheriff’s until she is reunited with her parents.
