McNeil Picked Bobcat Athlete of the Week

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. (GCSU RELEASE) – Sophomore Paul McNeil (Dunwoody, Ga.) of the Georgia College cross country team was named Bobcat Athlete of the Week for the week ending Oct. 13. This marks McNeil’s first honor this season, but the fourth for the men’s cross country team.

The sophomore won the Captain Chris Invitational at Christopher Newport University Saturday. McNeil broke the tape in the 8K run at 26:42, besting the field by six full seconds. This marks the first career race win for McNeil, but the third for a Bobcat men’s runner this season. The time was also a personal-best for McNeil, placing him ninth in the school recordbooks.

GC cross country is back in action Saturday, Oct. 26 at the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Championships in Americus, Ga.
