Bibb Deputies: Suspects Stole 17 Semi-Automatic Rifles
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is looking for four suspects wanted for stealing several semi-automatic rifles from the Bass Pro Shop.
According to a news release, four black males broke through a glass door and entered the building. Deputies say they went to the gun area and used a crow bar to pry open the metal bars that secured the guns. Lt. Sean Defoe with the sheriff’s office says 17 AR-15 semi-automatic rifles were stolen during the burglary.
Deputies describe the first suspect as a black male wearing a black shirt and shorts. He was seen carrying a white t-shirt in his left hand.
The second suspect is described as a black male with a white t-shirt wrapped around his head, wearing a black t-shirt and shorts. This suspect was wearing long pants underneath the shorts. He was also wearing white, mid cut tennis shoes with red trimming and red shoe laces.
The third suspect is described as wearing a black shirt and dark pants. He was also wearing light colored shoes.
The fourth suspect is described as wearing a black short-sleeve shirt with a white long sleeve shirt under his t-shirt. He was also wearing shorts.
No more information is available at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
Defoe says the ATF is helping with the investigation. The sheriff’s office has also put “be on the lookouts” for all four suspects statewide and nationwide. Investigators are currently processing evidence collected at the scene.
