Macon County Fire Department Takes First in State Competition
OGLETHORPE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Macon County Fire Department beat out fire departments from all over the state in a competition last week in Albany.
According to a release from the Macon County Board of Commissioners, the competition was held on September 13 during the annual Fire Service Conference for the Georgia State Firefighters Association and Georgia Association of Fire Chiefs.
The department, which is made up of 45 volunteers, competed in quick dress, busted hose, bucket brigade and hose evolution, taking top honors overall.
