Ivey Mayor Running for Re-Election Amid Investigation

IVEY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – In Wilkinson County, a familiar face is returning to the Ivey mayoral race.

Mayor Ann Evans announced that she will run again amid several allegations and an open investigation.

Last month, Ivey city council members began their probe into the mayor’s spending habits
and meeting tactics. The investigation comes after citizens accused Evans of misusing funds and “holding secret meetings”.

A hearing for Evans will be held on Thursday, September 26 at Ivey City Hall. Evans, who has been in office for 8 years, is now running against, newcomer Daniel Pope.
