Reese, Worthington Win Awards at Wooden Racquet Classic
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Macon tennis center played host to a “Blast from the Past” Monday.
The John Drew Smith Tennis Center on North Ingle Place held its first annual “Wooden Racquet Classic.” The center plans to hold the event on Labor Day from here on out.
For the Round-robin tournament, players were asked to use Pre-1980s racquets made mostly of wood.
Morris Reese took home awards for “Champion of the Court” and “Most Games Won.” Shawnder Worthington won “Most Aces.” Both received $25 gift certificates from Belk.
