Rep. Austin Scott Sworn In
“Today is not a win for Republicans, it’s about Americans rejecting a federal government that’s grown too big,” Austin Scott said after taking his Congressional Oath of Office Wednesday.
But, he and other newly-elected members of Congress were able to put political parties aside and celebrate a historic day they won’t soon forget.
Scott, who beat incumbent Jim Marshall for Georgia’s 8th Congressional District, was joined by his wife, Vivien, and 11-year-old son, Wells for the swearing-in ceremony in Washington, D.C..
“I want to thank you for the opportunity to serve,” he said. “It’s going to be a great privilege.”
