John Milledge’s Attaway Signs with Georgia College

MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (GCSU ATHLETICS) – The Georgia College men’s basketball program and head coach Terry Sellers announced the addition of local product Brantley Attaway Monday.

Attaway, a 6-foot guard, comes to Georgia College from John Milledge Academy where he was a four year starter under ead coach Thomas Craig. Attaway averaged 19.6 points this past season and averaged 17.8 points per game in his prep career.

“We are excited that Brantley is joining our program,” said Sellers. “He had a terrific career at John Milledge Academy. He is a great example of what a student-athlete should be; starting every year for the basketball team while maintaining a 3.7 grade point average. As a senior, he led the Trojans to the Region Championship game and a spot in the GISA Elite Eight.”

Attaway was named the Union Recorder Player of the Year as a junior, as well as being named three-time All-Region and two-time All-State. He was nominated and chosen as a starter in the Georgia vs. South Carolina Private School All-Star game. Attaway was the Trojans Team Captain both his Junior and Senior seasons and finished his career scoring more than 1,500 points.
