Perry Chamber Hosts “Legislative Appreciation Reception”
PERRY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — A group of middle Georgia state senators and legislators hit the Go Fish Education Center in Perry Thursday night to mix and mingle with the business community.
The Perry Area Chamber of Commerce hosted the 12th annual “Legislative Appreciation Reception” to honor the people who serve Houston County, and represent them at the state level.
Local leaders were also in attendance. There were no formal speeches or speakers, just some good food, and conversation.
“Well they represent us. We like to say they work for us, but we work together, and we like to make sure they know our positions, what’s important to us, what the folks at home care about, and they do. We’re very blessed in houston county and perry to have home folks representing us,” said Joe Brownlee, Executive Board, Perry Area Chamber of Commerce.
Each state representative and senator who represents part of Houston County was presented with a hand-painted landscape of downtown Perry as a token of appreciation.
