Bibb Deputies Searching for ATM Thief

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Bibb Sheriff’s Office needs your help finding a man they say stole an ATM early Wednesday morning in north Bibb County.

It happened between 3:30 and 4 a.m. at the Mid-South Federal Credit Union on Bass Road, according to a release. When the alarm went off, deputies arrived and found a fork lift in the parking lot and the ATM was gone.

Not long after, a deputy spotted a white man wearing a baseball cap driving a 90s model Chevrolet or GMC pickup truck with a large object in the back.  The deputy said the truck may have been “metallic blue” in color and it had “step sides.”

The man turned left onto New Forsyth Road and shut off his lights. That’s when deputies say they lost him.  He was last seen heading toward Monroe County.

The investigation revealed the fork lift had been stolen from a nearby construction site.

Anyone with information on this case should contact Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
