Macon Man Hit and Killed by Car on Log Cabin Drive

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Macon man is dead after he was run over by a vehicle on Log Cabin Drive near Gadson Drive Saturday night.

According to Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones, 26-year-old Jonny Vasquez’s body was found in the road shortly after 9 p.m. near the entrance of the Sam’s Club shopping center.

Jones said the driver was still on the scene when he arrived and some witnesses say Vasquez was walking in the street when he was hit by the car.

According to the coroner, the Macon-Bibb Fire Department had to “jack up” the vehicle to extricate Vasquez’s body.

The Macon Police Department is investigating the incident.
