Macon Gearing Up for Benjamin Moore Paint Project
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The city of Macon is one step closer to seeing one of its streets get a burst of color in the coming months.
Macon Mayor Robert Reichert and other city officials, met with representatives from Benjamin Moore Monday, as they get ready to start the Main Street Mattes revitalization project.
A block of Second Street, between Poplar and Cherry Streets is getting a facelift.
Local professional painters will be hired, and area Benjamin Moore retailers will mix the paint.
“We’ll be painting the exterior first level surfaces only, and partnering with the other buildings, or the other levels, to provide the supplies to continue the project as well,” Kendyl Wright, a spokesperson from Benjamin Moore said.
Benjamin Moore is not saying how much the project will cost, but representatives are focusing on where they will begin.
Main Street Macon and the city plan on starting the revitalization project in early 2014.
