Macon-Bibb Fire Department Donates More than $5,000 to American Cancer Society
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – If you stuffed your face with pink pancakes during the Cherry Blossom Festival, you helped out the American Cancer Society in a big way!
Monday, the Macon-Bibb Fire Department, which hosts the annual pancake feast, gave the organization a check for $5,100. The money will go to fund several of the society’s programs, including the Bibb County Relay for Life. It’ll also help pay for research.
“We understand that all of these things–all of the programs and services are important, but just as important is the research to find a cure to end cancer,” says Brooke Wright with the American Cancer Society.
The Bibb County Relay for Life is set for the first weekend in May.
