California Native Joins Bibb County Commission Race for District 1

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — A California native, who’s called Macon home for the past five years,
says it’s time for a fresh face to represent the people of North Macon.

Harold Young, a father and minister, who serves as the Executive Director of Macon a Change wants to lead District 1 when the new Bibb County Commission takes shape.

His goal is to focus on bettering Macon as a whole. He says businesses don’t come to Macon just because one area is flourishing.

“We need to really be excited about our city. We’ve been here for five years, my family and I and we want to be excited about it. We’re not going anywhere so we want to be excited about where we live. Macon has so much opportunity and so much potential, and my goal is to make that potential reality,” said Young.

Young says Macon needs more family-friendly business’s like another movie theater. He feels he can work well with any of the candidates running for office.

He is running against current Bibb County Commissioner and former Bibb County School Board member, Gary Bechtel.
