30 Kids in Boys and Girls Club Freshen Up School Wardrobe with $100 Shopping Spree
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A local organization teamed up with a sporting goods store Tuesday to give underprivileged kids a back-to-school shopping spree.
About 30 kids from The Boys and Girls Club of Central Georgia had just under an hour to spend $100 at the Academy Sporting Goods store on Eisenhower Parkway.
With the cash, the kids bought school uniforms, backpacks, shoes and other school supplies.
Some actually learned a lesson in how quick $100 goes–a few of the shoppers got everything they wanted in less than 15 minutes!
President of the Boys and Girls Club of Central Georgia, Lee Wagner, says it’s a blessing for Academy to pick his organization over “many other deserving organizations” in middle Georgia.
Bibb County students go back to school August 5.
