Middle Georgia Restaurant Celebrates Royal Birth
CENTERVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The ‘Great Kate Wait’ made its way across the pond to Middle Georgia and one local British restaurant is drumming up royal baby excitement.
The royal baby watch may be over, but for the owner of the British Pantry and Tea Room the celebration is just beginning.
For the last two weeks, customers could fill out slips to participate in the ‘Royal Baby Contest.’ They had to guess the first name, when he or she would be born, and how much the baby would weigh. The winner with the most correct guesses wins a gift certificate.
The owner, Jan Francis, says she is also planning a big celebration sometime next month to welcome England’s newest prince.
“The royals are changing and [the baby] will be brought up more like Prince William and Prince Harry,” Francis said. “I think Catherine will be like Prince William’s mother, Princess Diana, and will really be with the child and look after the child and bring him or her into the modern day.”
The name of the baby boy hasn’t been announced yet, but Francis thinks his name will be George.
She adds this birth is important because he marks the third royal in line for the throne.
