Milledgeville Ethics Hearing Postponed

MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The City of Milledgeville’s first ethics hearing is postponed after the city councilman who the complaint is filed against asked for a continuance.

City Attorney Jimmy Jordan says the meeting was originally scheduled for Tuesday. Councilman Phillip Joiner’s lawyer told the city Joiner had a health issue, but the councilman told 41NBC he was not given proper notice of the hearing.

A downtown business owner filed the ethics complaint against Joiner earlier this year.

The ethics board is working to schedule a new hearing date for sometime next month.
