Injured Macon-Bibb Firefighter Stable, Deputies Recreating Incident

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The injured Macon-Bibb County firefighter who was hit by a car last week is still listed in stable condition.

Eric John responded to a traffic accident on I-75 southbound near Sardis Church Road on Thursday. That is when a car driven by 18-year-old Nayef Mohammd Shroof hit him and almost struck a deputy on the scene as well.

Lt. Sean DeFoe says the sheriff’s office is conducting a very thorough investigation. Deputies are trying to re-enact the incident and DeFoe says it may take time to complete the investigation.

Still no word on whether charges will be filed.
