Peach State’s First Fashion Truck Finds Home in Middle Georgia

MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Peach State’s first and only fashion truck is here in Middle Georgia. It is a mobile boutique that brings a unique shopping experience directly to you and the owner hopes the community will get on board with the idea.

“It’s really exciting to be a part of a new industry,” Karla Boston, the owner and founder of Go-Go Chic Boutique, said.

A new industry that is hitting the road here in Middle Georgia.

“This has always been in my blood and I’m just glad that I found something that has really taken off now,” Boston added.

While it is a new concept here in Georgia, fashion trucks are popular in California and New York. Boston started her fashion shop on wheel in Atlanta. She recently moved to Milledgeville and brought her big, pink truck with her.

“Its been slower, I must admit, so I’m looking forward to getting the business out there more.”

There are challenges that come with owning a fashion truck, like where to park.

“We’ve had to be in contact with the city manager and zoning just to make sure that we are staying within the law,” Boston said.

She hopes Go-Go Chic will bring a unique shopping experience to the community. And since its on wheels, her boutique is unlike any other.

“Where ever I go I’m always open,” Boston said. “We’ll come to you so you don’t have to come find us.”

Some shoppers took advantage of that convenience while on their work break.

“I have never seen or even heard about this kind of thing before so it was very cool for me,” Victoria Worthy said.

“It’s different and so that it makes it real interesting to do something different,” Joy Fortune said.

“It had a good selection and good colors, styles which is really neat,” Erika Kolodin said.

And with each satisfied customer, Boston hopes her one-of-a-kind business will take off.

“Everyone who gets on, they absolutely love it so its just a matter of getting out there and we know business will start booming very fastly.”

Go-Go Chic offers a wide variety of vintage clothing for everyone in all sizes. The prices range on average anywhere from $10 to $30.

Boston also hosts shopping parties. Since there is no address, she posts online where the truck will be. You can follow her on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
