Mentor’s Project Teaches Young Girls Life Lessons With Tea Time
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Young ladies of Bibb County learned valuable life lessons Thursday morning through the Mentor’s Project of Bibb County.
The girls were taught the importance of self-worth, making good decisions, and even given a history lesson by Executive Director, June O’Neal.
O’Neal hosts a variety of lessons like these on a monthly basis for boys and girls of Bibb County, but today’s lesson was specifically for the young women. O’Neal demonstrated how each girl is like a fine piece of china during an after-lunch tea time. She said it’s important these girls are taught how valuable they are early-on in life.
She also used the time to encourage them to think through their behaviors in life, as well as earn an education.
“We want them to get an education in High School, to get a diploma and to go to college, and be whatever they want to be. We don’t want them to settle, we want them to soar,” O’Neal said.
