HortonQuintadious 05192013 201300017527Milledgeville, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – During court proceedings this week, a grand jury formally charged the man accused of shooting and killing a man at the American Legion Post.

Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit Chief Assistant District Attorney Stephen Bradley tells 41NBC 21-year-old Quintavious Horton was indicted on two counts of the alternative: murder and felony murder.

Milledgeville police arrested Horton in May for the shooting death of 22-year-old Kenneth Simmons. This marked MPD’s first homicide in two years.

Bradley says this case is scheduled for arraignment in August and he hopes it will go before a jury sometime in the fall.
